Short history of organization

In 1996 the idea of creation of a social centre to help deprived and impoverished people of Chernihiv was born. It was realized thanks to Tony Budell, director of the Charity "British Humanitarian Aid", who encouraged Victoria Filatova and a group of like-minded people to create a public organization. These people became the founders of "Aratta".

June 11, 1998 - Chernihiv center for children and youth "ARATTA" was officially registered in the Town’s Council.

November 1999 - was recognized as the best town and regional non-governmental organization.

January 2002 - the organization moved to a new comfortable building where a Community Centre was created.

July 2003 - "Aratta" purchased a building for storing and distributing of humanitarian aid, with the means from the charity "British Humanitarian Aid", Great Britain.

2003 - three branches were opened in Chernihiv region: Shchors, Gorodnya, Makoshino (Menа district).

February 2, 2004 - public organization “Chernihiv centre for children and youth “ARATTA" was reorganized into Chernihiv regional charity "Aratta".

2004 – “Aratta” received a minibus "Gazelle" from the charity "British Humanitarian Aid", Great Britain.

November 5, 2008 – from organization “Aratta’s Venners”, t.Horsens, Denmark, received a bus DAB LEYLAND.

March 29, 2011 – new was building purchased for the Community centre “Aratta” in Chernihiv, address: 40, Stanislavskoho street, with the means from organization “Aratta’s Venners”, t.Horsens, Denmark, charity “Netwerk-Chernihiv” and Kampen Church, the Netherlands.
