Rights of a Child and Police.

In the frames of the project “Rights of a Child and Police” a training trainers for the “Choice-8” program took place in the premises of the Chernihiv resort, “Sunrise”. The goal of the project is testing a model of a social cooperation between police and education specialists in preventing drug misuse, HIV/AIDS and crime among children. Among participants of the ToT there were juvenile delinquency police officers and social teachers from the towns of Mena, Nizhyn, Pryluky and Chernihiv District. The event was conducted by Dr. Liudmyla Zavatska, Head of the Social Pedagogy Department of the Chernihiv Pedagogical University, and Valeriy Ryabukha, Chairman of the Board of the Prevention Center, “Choice”. They were assisted by Natalia Yurina, Chernihiv Region Police representative, and Vadym Strokin, Healthy Life Style expert.

Juvenile Delinquency Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs paid considerable attention to the Project. Their representative, Lesia Maznichenko, came to the ToT from Kyiv. She got acquainted with the participants and shared her understanding of crime prevention among children. The event was supported by the USA Embassy in Ukraine and the Chernihiv Region Charitable Organization, “Aratta”.
