Seminars in Horodnia and Borzna.

In April 15 and 17 of 2014 seminars on Evidence Based Prevention took place in boarding schools of district centers Horodnia and Borzna. Social teachers, psychologists and youth service specialists took part in the events. The seminars were led by Valeriy Ryabukha, project manager for the Chernihiv Region Charitable Organization, “Aratta”. He was assisted by Natalia Yurina in Horodia and Vadym Strokin in Borzna. The participants got acquainted with prevention basics and Chernihiv experience in the area. They also took part in the game “Take a guess” that is a component of the “Choice” prevention program.

Pre and post survey conducted at the events show that 90% of respondents in Borzna believe that conducting evidence based prevention programs at schools is necessary. 10% consider it as relevant. Almost half of them (47%) are ready to conduct the program personally and the same number takes it as possible.

The events were supported by the USA Embassy in Ukraine.
