Seminar for Teachers in Schors Boarding School

On the 18 of December 2013 a seminar on evidence based prevention took place in the premises of the Shors Boarding School of the Chernihiv Region. Social teachers and psychologists from the Boarding Schools as well neighboring schools of the Schors District took part in the event conducted by Valeriy Ryabukha, project manager for Chernihiv Region Charitable Organization “Aratta”, and Natalia Yurina, juvenile delinquency police officer of the Chernihiv Region Police.

The participants got acquainted with the Prevention Basics, Chernihiv experience in evidence based prevention, as well took part in the game “Take a guess”, that is a component of the Prevention Program, “Choice”. Pre and post surveys conduced during the seminar showed that 78 % of the respondents believed that implementation of prevention programs at schools would be necessary and 22 % - thought it would be relevant. No one said it would be unnecessary. Half of the participants would be ready personally to pass the proper training and conduct prevention program afterwards at their schools.
