The International organization of “Soroptimists-International” was in Chernihiv.

In September 2011 Chernihiv commercial and industrial chamber hosted guests from Denmark – they were representatives of International Womens’ Organization of “Soroptimists-International”. Nowadays it is the big organization for women in the whole world, which is in 124 countries and it has more than 90 thousand members, and also it is had conferences whose voice in UNO.

The main aim of the organization is a help and support those, who appeared in a difficult situation. Among such – and sufferings from an earthquake in Japan and from hurricanes in America, and inhabitants of the Crimean regions, which does not have clean water, and hospitals of Lithuania, which are not provided with a medical equipment and medications, it is and orphans, and of scanty means for poor people, and others like that. The organization of “Soroptimists-International” has already worked for 18 years and has 7 clubs in Ukraine.

The representatives of the organization have arrived the third year in succession and had a purpose of opening a new club here in Chernihiv. Soroptimists actively co-operate with Chernihiv Region Charity «Aratta», and also with the League of business and professional women of Chernihiv region with Iryna Dorozhkina as head. For today they have already helped a girl from a poor family Julia Breus, who is the student at Chernihiv National Teachers’ Training University and the “Soroptimists-International” organization paid for her study at the university.

At Chernihiv commercial and industrial chamber the representative of “Soroptimists-International” familiarized with the activities of the Chamber and told about themselves. They noticed that a lot of members, not only do some social activity, but most of them also work: have their own businesses and are interested in collaboration with Chernihiv ICC in direction of search and adjusting of partnership with Chernihiv enterprises. The invitation of the president of Chernihiv ICC Kostyantyn Ivanov to organize a business-mission of Danish businessmen and businesswomen to Chernihiv caused interest and was supported by the business women.
