Ulla Skovsbol in Aratta.

On Tuesday, the 5th of April, Chernihiv region charity Aratta was visited by a Danish journalist and national radio worker, Ulla Skovsbol. It was not her first visit to Ukraine, at first it was in 2006, on the 20th anniversary of Chornobyl tragedy. Naturally, her first reportages were covering the topic of Chornobyl disaster.

Ulla heard about Chernihiv region charity Aratta in her native country after meeting Susanne Priesler, the founder of Danish Charity Association “Aratta’s Friends”. She had a wish to research the work of such organizations more closely to be able to share this knowledge with Danish society.

On Wednesday, April 6, Ulla Skovsbol visited Aratta’s office, talked to the team, and asked questions about their work, plans and achievements. She interviewed the head of the organization Victoria Filatova and the Board members. After the office the journalist went to the warehouse where she could see the process of humanitarian aid distribution and talked to the people supporting it. Then Ulla visited new Aratta premises in Five Corners district and found out the plans of the organization development for future.

On Thursday, April 7, Regional theoretical and practical conference “The problems of gender stereotypes overcoming and forming of gender culture in society” took place on the basis of the organization “Women’s Union of Ukraine in Chernihiv region”. Ulla Skovsbol and Victoria Filatova were distinguished guests of this event. Ulla expressed her view of gender problem in the modern European society, talked to the head of “Women’s Union of Ukraine in Chernihiv region”, Dorozhkina Iryna Vasylivna. Here she also had a meeting with the head of the Shchors district charity organization “Aratta” Smolyak Volodymyr Mykolayovych who was also invited to the conference.

On the 8th of April Ulla returned to her country. We hope that she’ll pass our greetings to the friends from Horsens and advertise the work of Chernihiv Aratta and “Aratta’s Friends” association and it will attract new members and sponsors.
