Initiative. “NGOs plant flowers”.

To the International Day of Biological Diversity it has become a tradition to involve public representatives of Chernihiv shares gardening and preserving green areas in the city. As part of the project «Chernihiv will be green!» with the financial support of the U.S. Embassy in Ukraine, being realized by Chernigov charity Aratta and ICF «Global aid», leaders and activists of these organizations planted flowers in the flowerbeds of the city amusement park. This park is part of the urban forest "Kordivka, which was undertaken for protection by public organizations.

Bulbs and seeds were provided by "Irbis" and agrobiological station of the Teachers’ Training University named by Shevchenko. Seedlings were grown by the volunteers of ICF «Global aid» and: NGO «Man and Nature», students of School № 2 (dir.Kasatkina T.I.) and schoolchildren from the station «Young naturalists” helped to prepare beds and to plant the flowers. »

The cooperation of three sectors: government, business, NGOs and voluntary contribution of the residents of Chernigov will give positive results in preserving green areas in the city. It was initiated by CHOBO «Aratta» to carry out a Public Forum: “New Perspectives of Yalivshchyna” which is as well as Kordivka are the green lungs of Chernigov and needs a nature-protection status. The participants of the public forum supported the movement for preservation of Yalivshchyna and to give it a status of a regional and a landscape park, Yalivshchyna will be!
