Storehouse of Chernigiv Regional
Charity “Aratta”
The employees of the storehouse are telling.
Today we would like to tell about what we do every day and who have
become our reliable partners for a long time. The total amount of
the families under care is 61. We give humanitarian aid according to
the individual applications, there are 730 needy families, where
adopted children are brought up, 60 employees and 150 organizations
under care every year.
We get help from charity organizations: “British Humanitarian aid” (England),
charity association “Aratta’s friends” (Denmark). People gather
humanitarian aid at schools, church groups, women organizations,
even in prisons, also at transport companies and just from citizens.
We get everything that is necessary for people: clothes, bedding,
footwear, furniture, toys, sanitary items, stationery, etc.
 More than 100 ton was distributed in 2010 year with total amount
360000 hryvnia. Help for 150 organizations were given last year,
among them: children’s educational and medical establishments,
public organizations, associations and initiative groups.
We distribute humanitarian aid regularly to the branches of “Aratta”
in Shchors, Gorodnya, Makosheno, where group of volunteers give help
to those, who really need it.
Total amount of the volunteers, who work at the storehouse – 9
members. It is friendly team under the leadership of Kravchenko
Svitlana Stanislavivna – the head of the Commission on humanitarian
aid, Petrenko Nina Fedorivna – an accountant of humanitarian aid,
Strok Valentina Oleksandrivna makes an account of supplied
humanitarian aid according to the individual applications. Shapoval
Inna provides with hot dinners, Dydchenko Alla keeps an order and
helps with everything, she learns computer as well.
There are a lot of improvements of skills in our work, for example
Barabanova Tetiana became a high qualified specialist on questions
of delivery and retention of humanitarian aid. Kravchenko Marina
became a good assistant too.
How to deal with such hard work with heavy loads without men?!
Petryk Oleksandr deals with moving of the loads, with programs and
service for computers, he is irreplaceable helper for our women.
To transport humanitarian aid and stevedores we need a vehicle.
“Aratta” is lucky – we have our own transport that we have bought
due to the charity “British Humanitarian aid”, it is a minibus
“Gazel’” and our reliable driver is Kravchenko Denis.
Loaders work as volunteers in spite of the weather, they are ready
to help every minute.
The storehouse is situated in Rokossovskogo street, 37a, but we
dream about a new, light facilities, where it will be comfortable
for the workers and for those people, who get humanitarian aid.
There are different people, who come to get help, but as a rule they
are really needy, they are thankful for every thing that they get.
Some people want something more, but it is all that we have at this
time.
We thank God and our foreign friends for the care and long-term
support, but it would be great if we help each other on the local
level.
It is wonderful, that a lot of volunteers came and became active
helpers for collective of organization.
We invite regional patrons of art and Chernigiv society to support
those, who need our common help. We wish for our patrons of art to
develop spiritually and to see those, who need help. When we help
each other we become stronger.
