March, 27, 2009 On March, 27, 2009 one more truck with the humanitarian aid for needy families arrived to Chernihiv Charitable Organization “Aratta”. All the staff for the humanitarian cargo was collected by the Charity from England “British Humanitarian Aid”. The truck for delivery of the cargo was provided by the British Transportation Company “Gist”. The world economic breakdown made the arrangement of this delivery quite difficult. Previously the transportation company “Gist” provided four trucks with all travel costs paid during the year for delivery of humanitarian aid to Ukraine. But this time John Bushby and Roman Oleshnishin, the drivers from UK, had to make fundraising all over the Great Britain themselves and in addition they put their own money in to pay for the fuel to make this trip possible. This is the true proof of the Ukrainian saying “a single thread from everyone -and there's a shirt for a naked one”. (many a little makes a mickle). During their stay in Chernihiv John Bushby and Roman Oleshnishin visited the city Foster Home “Nadiya” (Hope), spent time with children and even played a soccer game with them.
Chernihiv Charitable Organization “Aratta” on behalf of volunteers and families under “Aratta’s” care expresses the frank words of gratitude to all who participated in the arranging of this affair, who deposited their work and heart, who helped to collect and to deliver this humanitarian aid which is really precious for us.
